Here is the short story of my Teddy. A story of life, love, and letting go. A dog rescue.

For the past few months, Teddy has been my baby. And in particular because I've had him since he was merely a baby. Teddy came into my life as a 6 week old puppy, after I saved his litter of 8 tiny puppies from inevitable euthanasia in a shelter. The actual cause of their pending deaths: their breed.

Teddy's mother was a Pit Bull. Definitely, this also makes Teddy a Pit Bull mix. And even though he is just as much a "Boxer mix" (that, by the way, is considered "acceptable" by most shelter standards), the Pit Bull label almost guaranteed his fate--death. So hard to get parents to adopt a dog of this kind.

Because of this, I rescued 8 Pit Bull mix puppy dogs and helped bring them back to life. Several of these puppies were malnourished, needing extra vet care, frequent feedings, and costly supplements.

Teddy was indeed among those sick babies, and out of the 8, he required the most from me. He was so small, and I remember how he'd snuggle his tiny body in my arms and shower me with kisses as I nursed him back to health. I loved every single minute of those early days with my Teddy, and those reminiscences will remain in my heart for so long as I live.

Soon enough, three of the healthy pups, Brutus, Duke, and Bam Bam, were taken on and moved to Minnesota. The remaining 5 lived with me restoring, growing, and learning. Day after day, they grew to become a little better, got a little bigger, and learned a little more.
